DutiesInterns will be expected to participate in all phases of case processing, including legal research and analysis, providing legal advice, and participating in the full range of investigative activities related to case evaluation and planning, including data collection and analysis.
Agency descriptionEnforces federal laws on equal access to education by resolving complaints brught by students and conducted by agency-initiated compliance reviews and provides technical assistance to help insitutions achieve voluntary compliance with the civil rights laws. All Interns must pass a background clearance check, which takes upwards of 2-3 months. Therefore, only accepting Fall semester placements only.

Position requirementsDemonstrated interest in civil rights or education will be preferred. Due to the length of time needed for background checks for this position, we recommend an application in the early spring for a fall start date.
