Susan J. Feathers, is the Assistant Dean for Public Interest and Pro Bono at the Rutgers Newark Law School campus where she oversees a variety of public interest program. During her time at Rutgers Law, Feathers has assisted in developing a range of public interest initiatives, including public interest career counseling, service-learning, and public interest fellowships, in collaboration with Associate Dean Friedman, who oversees both programs. Feathers prior experience includes serving as the Executive Director of the Stanford Law School Levin Center for Public Interest, the Director of the Penn Public Interest Program (now the"Toll" Center), and the first Director of public interest career counseling and programming at Yale Law School. She began her career in legal academics as a Clinical Fellow at Hofstra Law School, where she supervised law students in the Criminal Defense and Constitutional Litigation Clinics. Her legal experience includes serving as an Associate Appellate Counsel at the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Appeals Burea. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and an M.A. in 1983 and from Northeastern Law School in 1987.
