Biography

Erika currently teaches international commercial arbitration, international sales law, fashion law, and serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court program.

Ms. Levin is a partner of Lewis Baach Kaufman Middlemiss PLLC and focuses her practice on international commercial arbitration, intellectual property, regulatory actions, as well as complex commercial and cross-border litigation. She advises multinational corporations within the construction, energy, financial, transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, insurance, and technology sectors, in matters implicating the rules of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”), International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), the London Court of International Arbitration (“LCIA”), Vienna International Arbitral Centre (“VIAC”), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”), and the Brazilian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce Center for Arbitration and Mediation (“CAM-CCBC”). She is a member of the panel of arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), the ICDR, the ICC, the Kigali International Arbitration Centre ("KIAC"), and the Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation of the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná (“CAM FIEP”). She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey as well as in the United States Supreme Court, Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Third Circuit Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey.

Prior to joining LBKM, Ms. Levin served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for a litigation finance company and was previously affiliated with Clifford Chance US LLP, Stone & Magnanini LLP (formerly the New Jersey office of Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP), and Saiber LLC, where she focused predominantly on international commercial arbitration, complex commercial litigation, and internal investigations. She clerked for the Honorable Dennis J. Braithwaite, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. She also served as a clerk for the Honorable Theodore A. McKee, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Honorable Joel B. Rosen, United States Magistrate Judge for the United District Court of New Jersey. Erika served as a Raimondo Legislative Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics and worked for the New Jersey Senate. Prior to law school, Ms. Levin worked for the United States Embassy in Malta, where she focused on matters relating to Malta's accession to the European Union.

Ms. Levin regularly lectures and writes on international arbitration and sales law.  She has lectured at international arbitration conferences sponsored by the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, International Chamber of Commerce, Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem, United States Council for International Business, and the New York City Bar, and has participated in the ICC Institute Master Class for Arbitrators in Paris.  She has also participated in various meetings related to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law ("UNCITRAL") Model Law Working Groups.

Ms. Levin received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College, where she was elected to Phi Betta Kappa, and earned her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law.  Ms. Levin is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.  She is a dual-citizen of the United States and Brazil, and she speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
