Biography

Paul Bond is a partner at Reed Smith LLP, a global law firm.  From his Princeton, New Jersey office, Paul helps lead the firm’s Information Technology, Privacy & Data Security group.  In more than a decade of focused practice, Paul has helped defend clients from more than 75 putative class actions involving privacy and cybersecurity issues.  Paul also serves on the Board of Directors of the Identity Theft Resource Center, a leading non-profit providing victim assistance.  At Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, Paul is an Instructor of Information Security Law, CISO Executive Education and Certification Program.  Paul writes frequently on the legal aspect of technology issues, such as ransomware, facial recognition technology, the commercial adoption of drones, and the Internet of Things.

Prior to Reed Smith, Paul clerked for the New Jersey Supreme Court, in the chambers of Justice Peter Verniero.  He graduated with honors from University of Pennsylvania Law School, 2002, and served as an Articles Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.  Paul’s article, Making Champerty Work: An Invitation to State Action, 150 University of Pennsylvania Law Review 1297 (2002), has been cited in dozens of subsequent works on litigation finance, and by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Paul graduated magna cum laude from Drew University with a Bachelor of Arts in both Philosophy and Economics.
