601:743. INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN PROSECUTION (2) S

This skills course will focus on what happens after a defendant is charged, arrested, and goes through initial CJP and detention hearings. Students will learn the next steps in prosecuting an ICAC case, including pre-indictment motion practice, grand jury preparation and presentation, and post indictment motion practice, leading all the way up to trial. Students will have the opportunity to draft motions and provide oral arguments to “the court” in support of their respective positions as either prosecutors or defense attorneys. Students will hear from various guest speakers on these topics and will be evaluated by the professor and a guest judge(s).

ICAC INVESTIGATIONS IS AN ABSOLUTE PREREQUISITE TO THIS COURSE.
