DutiesLegal research & writing for administrative law judges. Exposure to complex cases in areas of environmental, employment, consumer affairs, education & special educaiton, human services, etc. Externs will also observe hearings, interact directly with administrative law judges and have the opportunity to attend training sessions regarding developments in the law.
Agency descriptionThe agency's 45 administrative law judges preside over contested cases and render written decisions. The case areas include environmental law, civil rights, rate setting, consumer affairs, education law, civil service, pensions, health, etc.
Time requirementsFlexible. Placements available in Trenton and Newark. 1 OR 2 SEMESTER PLACEMENT IS ALLOWED.
Position requirementsMinimum 3.2 G.P.A. Require a B+ in Legal Research and Writing.
