This program will provide an overview of current law and practices in intellectual property (IP) law for non-IP attorneys. Because IP is usually a valuable asset for businesses, and every business will encounter at least some IP issues, an understanding of IP law is beneficial. Attorneys often consider IP law to be the domain of specialized boutique firms, but aspects of this practice area can arise in other contexts or can readily be incorporated into other practice areas.

Topics include:

  • Idea Protection
  • Copyrights
  • Trademarks
  • Right of Publicity
  • Patents
  • Trade Secrets
