Students in this eight-credit clinic serve immigrants who need individual client representation and broader advocacy, including relief from removal, applications for asylum and refugee status, and protection for victims of human trafficking, battered immigrants, or abused, abandoned or neglected immigrant children. This clinic is at our Newark location.
The clinic is currently only taking cases involving New Jersey residents who are currently in removal proceedings. Professor Anju Gupta, Clinic Director
Anjum Gupta is the Director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic and teaches non-clinical courses in refugee law and professional responsibility. She writes in the areas of refugee law, and her articles have appeared in the Indiana Law Journal, Colorado Law Review, Georgetown Immigration Law Journal, and Columbia Human Rights Law Review. She is the law school's Judge Chester J. Straub Scholar.
