Every day at Rutgers, one of the nation’s premier academic institutions, sophisticated and impactful intellectual pursuits are underway. But when Rutgers marks its 250th birthday on Nov. 10, 2016, the university will celebrate “A Day of Revolutionary Thinking.”

As part of this special event, accomplished graduates have been asked to return to campuses across the university to present new ideas, discoveries, and practices that are shaping our world today.

Nine distinguished graduates will visit Rutgers Law School in Camden, both in classrooms and in public forums. The group, includes: a top lawyer for NASA and her astronaut husband; an entertainment lawyer; a copyright lawyer for CBS; a pro bono lawyer who successfully appealed a capital-murder conviction; the first female judge advocate general of the U.S. Army; a corporate lawyer for the Exelon Corporation; an associate justice for the New Jersey Supreme Court; a longtime legal advocate for the elderly and disabled; and a corporate counsel who is charged to improve board diversity.

According to Rutgers Law Co-Dean Michael T. Cahill, this impressive group of alumni appropriately represents Rutgers University’s status as one of the top research institutions in the world.

“This outstanding roster of alumni is indicative of the great diversity and expansive reach of Rutgers Law School’s alumni base of more than 20,000 attorneys, practicing every kind of law everywhere in the country,” says Cahill. “Our students, our law school community, and the entire profession  are indebted to these individuals for their contributions, and we are delighted to honor them during a historic and celebratory day within the university.”

Registration is required for the public talks, some occurring within actual law school classes.
