Summer Session 2005 -- Change of Program, Withdrawals, and Refunds

As mentioned above, the deadline for adding Summer Session 2005 courses via the website is Friday, April 22. Students may register in person after that date, but you will be subject to a $50 late fee if you register after May 20. The latest date for registration is Thursday, May 26, 2005.

ADDING / DROPPING COURSES: After you initially register for the Summer Session via the website, you will be free to modify your schedule as needed. But please pay close attention to the following deadlines and their financial implications:

1.     Once registered, you may use the website to add courses through Friday, April 22, 2005. After this date, you may still register or add courses by contacting Associate Dean John Podolski (Room 600D; ext. 6252; fax: 856.225.6487; podolski@camlaw.rutgers.edu) who will administratively adjust your record as needed. The absolute deadline for registering is Thursday, May 26, 2005 (with payment of $50 fee). For students who are registered as of May 26, the deadline for adding courses after the semester has started is Friday, June 3 (4 p.m.). If your credit load increases as a result of any add transaction, then you will receive a supplemental billing from the University for the additional tuition charge. Please remember that 8 credits is the maximum course load in Summer Session.

2.     Once registered, you may use the website to drop courses. For each course you drop through Friday, May 27, 2005, you will receive a 100% refund of the tuition charge. You will also be able to drop courses between Tuesday, May 31, and Monday, June 6, 2005, but you will only receive a 50% refund of the tuition charge for courses dropped during this period and you will receive a grade of "W" on your academic transcript. If you drop all courses (i.e., withdraw completely from Summer Session) on or before May 27, you will also receive the refundable portion of the student fee.

3.    With the approval of Associate Dean Podolski, courses may also be dropped during the period June 7 through July 5, 2005, but no refunds of tuition or student fees will be paid. The website will not be available for dropping courses after June 7, 2005. Finally, no course may be dropped after July 5, 2005.

4.    Courses dropped on or before May 27, 2005 will not be indicated on the academic transcript. Note: If you register for a course and then decide against taking it but fail to drop it, then a grade of "F" will appear on the academic transcript and you will be liable for the tuition charge.
