Duties	Students will review case fiing submitted by public defenders and prosecutors, observe waiver trials in addition to motion and sentencing hearings and review and input sentencing analyses to determine compliance with state sentencing guidelines and statutes. Interns/Externswill learn about sentending issues in order to determine adherence to the Pennsylvania Sentencing Guidelines promulgated by the Pennsylvania Sentencing Commission and state statutory requirements. Also, a student will observe courtroom procedure and learn substantive legal principals utillized in court by the Philadelphia public defenders and prosecutors.
Agency description	Judge DiClaudio issues rulings on pre-trial criminal motions and bench trrials in both waiver and major cases in Philadelplhia's Northwest, Central and East Divisions and disposes of well over 1,000 cases each year and handles a multitude of sentencing and violation of probation hearings.
