As a Clinical Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Academic Success Program, Alison Nissen provides law students with opportunities to improve their academic performance through formal courses, workshops and individual conferences.  She also directs the school’s bar examination preparation programs. Professor Nissen has presented at various academic success workshops and conferences, as well as at the AALS Annual meeting. Her scholarship focuses on the issues facing veteran and military law students.

Biography

Alison M. Nissen is the Director of the Academic Success Program and a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at Rutgers School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. Since joining Rutgers in 2007, Alison has developed and implemented the law school’s comprehensive Academic Success program. Alison designed and co-teaches the law school’s for-credit bar preparation course. Prior to joining Rutgers, Alison was the Co-Director of the Academic Support Program at Widener University School of Law – Wilmington and a Legal Methods Professor where she taught various legal methods and skills courses. Prior to joining Widener, Alison specialized in legal research, writing and appellate work for a private law firm. Alison received her B.A. in psychology from the College of William and Mary and her J.D. with honors from Rutgers School of Law – Camden. Alison has recently presented and written on the topic of veteran and military law students.
