Getting to Rutgers Law School

Located at the base of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, connecting Camden to Philadelphia in minutes, the law school at Camden is a walkable campus conveniently accessed by plane (Philadelphia International Airport), train (NJ Transit River Line and PATCO Speedline, bus (NJ Transit), or car.

The law school at Newark is easily reached from major highways and Newark Liberty International Airport is nearby. The school is close to Newark Penn Station, serviced by PATH, NJ Transit, and Amtrak trains and bus lines. Newark Broad Street Station also provides train access from New York City, as well as many New Jersey suburbs.

From North Jersey

  1. From the New Jersey Turnpike, take exit 4.
  2. After toll, take the exit ramp going toward Route 73 North, Tacony-Palmyra Bridge.
  3. From Route 73 North, take Route 38 West.
  4. Route 38 will merge with Route 30 on the right (also known as Admiral Wilson Blvd.).
  5. Proceed on Route 30 West for approximately one mile where the road forks.
  6. Take the right fork marked "Local Traffic Only, Last Exit Before Toll."
  7. Continue straight ahead to the fifth traffic light and turn left onto Seventh Street/Haddon Avenue.
  8. At the next light, turn right onto Cooper Street and continue past the traffic light (corner of Broadway and Cooper) to 6th Street and turn right.
  9. At the next intersection, make a left onto Penn Street and the lot is on the right, across from the entrance to the law school’s east building.   

From South Jersey

  1. Take Route 42 North (going toward Philadelphia) to 676 North.
  2. From 676 North, take 7th Street exit, which says, "Last Exit Before Toll."
  3. Turn left at first light (Linden Avenue, which is at the foot of the ramp).
  4. At next light, turn left onto Seventh Avenue/Haddon Avenue).
  5. At the next light, turn right onto Cooper Street and continue past the traffic light (corner of Broadway and Cooper) to 6th Street and turn right.
  6. At the next intersection, make a left onto Penn Street and the lot is on the right, across from the entrance to the law school’s east building.  

From Philadelphia via Walt Whitman Bridge

  1. At bottom of bridge, take Camden 676 North exit. Stay in left lane.
  2. Take first exit on left (42/676).
  3. Proceed exactly as above (From Routes 42 and 676 North).

From Philadelphia via Ben Franklin Bridge

  1. At the bottom of the bridge, take first exit, University District.
  2. Make a right toward 6th Street.
  3. At the stop sign, turn right onto Penn Street.
  4. The lot is on the right, across from the entrance to the law school’s east building.

From Route 130 South, Route 38 West, and Route 70 West

  1. Take Route 30 West (also known as Admiral Wilson Boulevard).
  2. Continue to the Linden Avenue exit (sign also states "Last Exit Before Toll").
  3. Continue on Linden Avenue to the fifth traffic light and turn left onto Seventh Street/Haddon Avenue.
  4. At the next light, turn right onto Cooper Street and continue past the traffic light (corner of Broadway and Cooper) 6th Street and turn right.
  5. At the next intersection, make a left onto Penn Street and the lot is on your right, across from the entrance to the law school’s east building.

Parking in Camden
Parking in Rutgers lots Monday through Friday requires a parking pass. Parking meters (run by the City of Camden) are available for short visits. The most convenient full-day parking is available in the Camden County Community College garage at N. 6th and Penn Streets (enter on Penn Street). The parking fee is $8.25 for a day. Newark
123 Washington Street, Newark, NJ 07102

From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South)
1.Take exit 15W to Route 280 - West.
2. After drawbridge, take Exit 14B (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.).
3. At bottom of the exit ramp, turn left and continue to stop sign.
4. At stop sign, turn left onto King Blvd.
5. Stay in right lane proceeding straight on King Blvd. to fifth light and make left onto Warren Street.
6. Make a left at second light (Washington Street).
7. Law School is two short blocks on the left at the corner of Washington and New Streets.

From Garden State Parkway (North or South)
1. Take exit 145 to Route 280 East, Newark-Harrison.
2. Once on Route 280, stay in the right lane, following signs for Harrison.
3. Continue to Exit 14 (King Blvd.).
4. Take this exit and make a right at the light at the bottom of the exit ramp onto King Blvd.
5. Stay in right lane proceeding straight on King Blvd. to fourth light and make left onto Warren Street.
6. Make a left at second light (Washington Street).
7. Law school is two short blocks on the left at the corner of Washington and New Streets.

From Route 280
Westbound: Directions are the same as from the NJ Turnpike. Eastbound: Directions are the same as from the Garden State Parkway.

From Route 21 North
1. Route 21 becomes McCarter Highway in Newark.
2. At junction of McCarter Highway and Raymond Blvd., turn left onto Raymond Blvd.
3. Stay on Raymond, crossing Park and Broad Streets, until you reach Washington Street.
4. Turn right on Washington Street.
5. Law school is three blocks on the left at the corner of Washington and New Streets.

From Route 21 South
1. Make right turn on Clay Street and continue to first traffic light.
2. Turn left on Broad Street and stay in right lane to next light.
3. Bear right where road splits and you will be on University Avenue.
4. Turn left at Warren Street. Make a left at second light (Washington Street).
5. Law school is two short blocks on the left at the corner of Washington and New Streets.

From the Holland or Lincoln Tunnels
Proceed to the New Jersey Turnpike and follow directions for the NJ Turnpike.
