Biography

Mr. Barkasy is a partner in the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and is Co-Chair of the Creditors’ Rights and Business Reorganization Practice Group. Mr. Barkasy is also a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group.

Mr. Barkasy devotes a substantial portion of his practice to Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 bankruptcy matters. He has represented clients in several high-profile bankruptcy cases, such as General Motors, Chrysler, American Airlines, Enron, Hawker Beechcraft and Fisker Automotive. Mr. Barkasy also handles a wide-variety of complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state court, including breach of fiduciary duty, lender liability, employment, products liability and construction cases.

Mr. Barkasy has been a member of the adjunct faculty since 2006, teaching Bankruptcy, Business Organizations, Construction Law and Secured Transactions. He was selected by the Class of 2014 as the Adjunct Professor of the Year.

Mr. Barkasy is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Mr. Barkasy is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law -- Camden (J.D., with honors, 1988) and Dickinson College (B.A., English and History, 1985).
