601.771. INTRAMURAL MOCK TRIAL TEAM (3) S
Pre- or Co-requisites: Evidence, permission of instructor.
The Fall Intramural Mock Trial Team is open to all 1Ls and 2Ls by audition. Students accepted for participation in the Fall intramural competition will be assigned mentors to assist them in preparation for the fall competition. The competition will be conducted in the Fall and students will be scored on an individual and team basis. The highest scoring students may be offered positions on Rutgers Trial Advocacy Competition Team, which competes regionally against other law schools each Spring.
601:553. TRIAL ADVOCACY COMPETITION TEAM (2)
Prerequisite: Evidence and permission of the instructor.
Students participate in a National Student Trial Advocacy Competition as a component of this course. Students will develop a greater understanding of case preparation, examination skills, theory development, trial strategy, and techniques of persuasion. The competition problem serves as a vehicle for developing advocacy skills in the areas of opening statements/closing arguments and examination of lay and expert witnesses.
Students interested in enrolling in this course should contact Professor Lore in order to receive further details concerning the competition and to receive permission to enroll in this course.
601.758. INTRAMURAL MOCK TRIAL TEAM BOARD ( P2)
Prerequisites: Intramural Mock Trial Team Competition; Trial Advocacy Competition Team; or permission of instructor
Successful participants in the IMTT/TACT sequence, or students who have distinguished themselves in another trial advocacy course may be invited to participate in a subsequent IMTT/TACT round, while serving as coaching/teaching assistants for the program. Students receive one credit in the Fall and one credit in the Spring. For those students who become members of the Board by distinguishing themselves in another trial advocacy course and have not previously competed on the TACT, they will be eligible to enroll in the Trial Advocacy Competition Team course if chosen by the faculty to compete.
