Biography

Cory Poker is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney with ten years of experience prosecuting patent applications for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and almost fifteen years of prior experience as a medicinal chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. He works at Hoxie & Associates LLC, a small intellectual property boutique in Millburn, New Jersey, which specializes in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical patent practice. 

Cory received his BS degree in molecular and cell biology and his MS degree in nutritional biochemistry and organic chemistry at Cornell University. He then worked as a medicinal chemist at Schering-Plough Research Institute then Merck Research Laboratories, developing new drug molecules in the oncology, neuroscience, antibacterial, antiviral, and cardiovascular therapeutic areas, and he has been an inventor on several patent applications. Cory became a registered U.S. Patent Agent and worked in this area while attending Rutgers Law School Newark as an evening student, where he was also a member of the Rutgers Law Review, the Student Bar Association, and the Evening Student Association. Cory graduated from Rutgers Law with a J.D. summa cum laude in 2018, and is admitted to the bar in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
