Dear Alumni:

On behalf of the Rutgers Law School–Newark Alumni Association and the Rutgers Law School–Camden Alumni Association, we are excited and humbled to lead our respective Alumni Associations this coming year.

We have lived through an unprecedented moment in history and emerged with our values and versatility intact. During this period of adversity for many, we were fortunate enough to celebrate some success of our alumni, too. For example, Justice Fabiana Pierre-Louis '06 became the first Black-woman on New Jersey’s highest court, and Judge Zahid Quraishi '00 became the first Muslim to be confirmed as a District Judge in the United States. At the same time, with the recent passing of Professor Frank Askin '66, we are reminded of the legacy of so many of our esteemed professors and alumni, and are committed to furthering Rutgers Law School’s commitment to public service, diversity and inclusion.

Following a year of social distancing, we are also eager to reengage Rutgers Law Alumni by welcoming you back to in-person events:

  1. Starting with the Rutgers Law School-Newark Alumni Association Annual Gala taking place on September 22, 2021 at the Maplewood Country Club, where we will honor three accomplished alumni of Rutgers Law School-Newark. Join us for an evening of networking and celebration.
  2. Later this fall, please attend the Rutgers Law Camden Alumni Awards and Scholarship Benefit being held on November 18, 2021 at The Merion, Cinnaminson, New Jersey for a black-tie optional gala honoring three distinguished alumni. We request your support as we raise funds for the Scholarship Fund, and of course, have a little fun.

We are here to help you stay connected through the programs and events we sponsor:

  • Social events
  • Career networking
  • Student Mentoring
  • Class Reunions
  • Alumni Awards and Scholarship Benefits

Please be sure to continue to check your email and sign up for events. We also encourage you to foster relationships with and support the professional growth of our younger alumni as we continue to be a leader in the legal community. Help the law school pay it forward by volunteering for events, mentoring a law student or young alum, or supporting our fundraising efforts. Donating money for scholarships not only has the obvious benefit of assisting students in being able to attend law school, but also helps the law school enroll students who may have otherwise gone elsewhere for financial reasons. We thank you for your support as we embark on our terms this year and look forward to seeing each of you at our upcoming programs and events.
