Most businesses run on personal information, about customers, employees, prospects, and more. The headlines are littered with cautionary tales about companies getting it wrong when it comes to privacy.  Businesses demand concrete solutions from their litigators, transactional attorneys, and regulatory lawyers.

This course will provide an essential set of tools to identify and manage the legal risks associated with personal information. Participants will learn how to:  (i) draft privacy policies and terms of use, both for websites and for mobile apps; (ii) perform 360-degree privacy due diligence for proposed transactions; (iii) develop and execute on written plans to respond to emergencies such as data security breaches or ransomware attacks; and (iv) respond to class action lawsuits and government investigations arising from (alleged) privacy failures.
