Biography

Lakeisha R. Fields is a practicing attorney in Philadelphia. She has been licensed to practice in Pennsylvania for over sixteen years. She was also admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2017, and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in the same year. After an eleven-year career with the District Attorney’s Office, Lakeisha ventured into civil litigation from 2016 until 2019. During that time, she was an associate at Burns White, LLC, while there she specialized in long term care litigation representing nursing homes and hospitals within the tri state area. In 2018, Lakeisha joined Reilly McDevitt, & Henrich, PC where she litigated toxic tort, product liability, auto negligence and premises liability matters. In August of 2019, Lakeisha was recruited to rejoin the District Attorney’s Office of Philadelphia. Lakeisha served as an Assistant Supervisor in the Juvenile division, where she maintained a caseload of high-profile cases, developed and implemented practical trial training for the new attorneys. She later litigated and maintained a caseload of over 200 cases which included acts of serious violence as a Senior Attorney in the Major Trials Division. Lakeisha currently serves as a Deputy City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia.

During her initial time with the District Attorney’s Office, Lakeisha served as an Assistant District Attorney, supervising the Juvenile Division. In this role, she managed more than 40 attorneys and interns, providing guidance and feedback on case preparation and presentation while maintaining a full caseload. She also held several other supervisory and trial attorney positions in multiple divisions of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

Outside the office, Lakeisha is passionate about helping the best and brightest young people, and attorneys succeed through community service and mentorship. Lakeisha recently expanded her love of mentorship into a formal teaching position at Rutgers Law School, training students on the basics of trial advocacy.

Lakeisha graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2005 and received a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002.

Lakeisha currently serves as the Vice President of Administration to The Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. She previously served as Executive Board member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Diversity in the Profession section, Corresponding Secretary and Elected Member to The Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, Executive Board Member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Minorities in the Profession Section and member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is a current member of the National Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, and the National Black Prosecutors Association.
