Inspired to Belong
As a woman of color and first-generation college graduate, it was imperative that my law school be a nurturing and welcoming environment. On the first day of 1L orientation, [former Co-Dean] Mutcherson and [former Vice Dean] Hawkins addressed my entire class about combating imposter syndrome and told us that, no matter what we’d been through or the doubts we had, we belonged. From then on, Rutgers Law’s culture of kindness and unwavering support reinforced that message time and time again. I am proud to belong at Rutgers!
