Rutgers Law Camden Alumni Association
The Rutgers University School of Law–Camden Alumni Association advances the school, the students, and its graduates throughout their lives.
Since its founding in the 1940s by Anthony J. Perotti ‘43, the Association has grown and prospered. Until recently, it has been governed by a board of 45 members, including six executive officers. These dedicated alums represent a cross-section of the over 9,000 alumni who have passed through the halls of this institution. They meet bi-monthly to tackle such issues as networking, diversity, scholarship, and how to support and promote the law school.
In 2009, the Camden Law Alumni Association became a chartered member of the Rutgers University Alumni Association which represents the more than 540,000 graduates of Rutgers University. There are no forms to complete and no dues to pay. Upon graduation, you are automatically a member and entitled to all the benefits.
During the academic year, the Camden Law Alumni Association organizes networking events throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York City, Delaware, and Washington DC. The Association sponsors three annual awards presented at an event each November: the Arthur E. Armitage Sr. Distinguished Alumni Award, the Joseph M. Nardi Jr. Distinguished Service Award, and the Recent Graduate Award. These awards honor graduates who have achieved an extraordinary level of success through their legal and professional expertise, outstanding service to the Law School, and/or exemplary community leadership. Through the generous support of its members, the Rutgers School of Law–Camden Alumni Association provides scholarships based on need and merit to those students who otherwise might not have the opportunity to achieve their goals.
Our alums are loyal and dedicated. They generously help their fellow graduates, the Law School and students in a variety of ways by volunteering as an adjunct faculty member, guest lecturer, moot court judge or coach, student mentor, panelist, etc. Anyone with questions about the RUAA or CLAWAA can contact us at alumni@camden.rutgers.edu
The Charles G. Resnick Scholarship & Student Support Fund
The Rutgers Law School–Camden Alumni Association (RLSCAA) is establishing a fund in Charles "Chuck" Resnick's name that will award a top scholarship at the DAAC to a student who exemplifies Chuck’s character and commitment to service. The fund will also finance greater alumni presence at flagship Rutgers Law student events in Camden throughout the year, just as Chuck sponsored tables or tickets at these events for many years.
With donations from the annual DAAC event, RLSCAA awards scholarships each year to Rutgers Law School–Camden students who demonstrate a need for financial aid. Without this aid, many law students may not otherwise be able to afford attending law school or focus on their studies. While the DAAC event honors many of our distinguished alumni, the heart of the event has always been to raise funds for the scholarship program. Six of the seven students who received a $5,000 scholarship from the Alumni Association attended this year’s DAAC and were recognized during the program.
