Immigrant Rights Clinic

Serving immigrants who need individual client representation and broader advocacy.

Students in this eight-credit clinic serve immigrants who need individual client representation and broader advocacy, including relief from removal, applications for asylum and refugee status, and protection for victims of human trafficking, battered immigrants, or abused, abandoned or neglected immigrant children. This clinic is at our Newark location.

The clinic is currently only taking cases involving New Jersey residents who are currently in removal proceedings. If would like to request the clinic's services, please call the clinic at (973) 353-5292 or e-mail Leena Khandwala, Managing Attorney, at leena.khandwala@rutgers.edu. Please provide your name in full, and if possible, let us know your Alien Registration number and the date and location of your next immigration court hearing.
