Biography

Amanda De Sena is a Detention Fellow with the Rutgers Immigrant Rights Clinic’s Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative (DDDI). De Sena is a recent graduate of Rutgers Law School, and was a student in the Immigrant Rights Clinic last year. Over the course of the clinic, she assisted in the representation of clients by attending immigration court hearings, conducting legal research, and preparing documents for submission to the court. During the summer of 2025, De Sena was an intern for the Office of the Public Defender, and worked in the Office of Parental Representation. As a legal intern, she conducted legal research, maintained regular contact with clients, and attended court proceedings. Prior to law school, De Sena attended Wagner College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
