Biography

Prior to joining the Law School, Professor Pizzurro practiced as a litigator in both New York and New Jersey.  Professor Pizzurro began her career as an associate in Morrison & Foerster LLP’s New York office, focusing on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on class actions, financial services litigation, and commercial disputes. In addition, she served extensively on the firm’s pro bono committee, representing asylum applicants, as well as advising local public interest organizations. Professor Pizzurro was also Of Counsel to the Firm Schwartz Barkin & Mitchell in Union, New Jersey, where she represented clients in federal, state, and administrative actions, with emphasis on commercial litigation. 

Professor Pizzurro is a graduate of Northwestern University and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif.  At Cardozo, Professor Pizzurro served as Articles Editor of the Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, competed on the National Trial Advocacy Team, and interned with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
