Jack Feinstein
Clinical Professor of Law, and Director of the Civil Justice Clinic Emeritus
Jack Feinstein is the Director of the Civil Justice Clinic and specializes in landlord/tenant law, consumer and family law, including domestic violence, and also practices in the areas of probate, unemployment compensation, real estate, and legal malpractice. He worked for Somerset-Sussex Legal Services, Essex-Newark Legal Services and the East Orange Tenants Association.
Biography
Professor Feinstein earned a B.A. from Rutgers College and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Newark. He is a former staff attorney at Somerset-Sussex Legal Services, where he handled a general civil caseload, and Essex-Newark Legal Services, in its housing unit. He has served as in-house counsel for the East Orange Tenants Association and continues to serve as a referral attorney for various tenant groups.
Professor Feinstein specializes in landlord/tenant law, consumer, and family law, including domestic violence. He has trained newly-admitted Legal Services attorneys in those areas of the law. Professor Feinstein also practices in the areas of probate, unemployment compensation, real estate, and legal malpractice, among others. He received an Equal Justice Medal from Legal Services of New Jersey for his work on behalf of indigent clients and an Award of Merit from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
