Biography

Lenore Pearson, Ph.D. joined Rutgers Law School as the Assistant Director of the Minority Student Program on the Newark campus in 2021. Prior to joining the Rutgers Law School, Lenore worked for the Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) on the Rutgers Newark campus, where she was responsible for the OUCP Budget, which included collaborating with the Assistant Chancellor to develop budget and conduct cost analysis. Dr. Pearson also worked with New Jersey Legislators and business leaders to secure internships for students who are interested in Public Policy and Public Administration. Prior to that, Dr. Pearson worked for the Rutgers Newark Office of the Chancellor in Student Affairs, where she led the Student Ambassador Program, a pipeline program for Newark high school students to attend Rutgers University Newark.

As Assistant Director, Dr. Pearson is responsible for implementing the MSP Orientation Program, the MSP Summer Internship Program, and the MSP Legal Skills Study Group Fellowship Program that addresses the needs of our diverse law student body. She hires, trains and supervises the Teaching Fellows and work-study students, and assists with the facilitation of MSP’s Mentorship Program. Dr. Pearson is responsible for developing working relationships with faculty and staff and administrators, and provides support to internal audiences, including applicants, current students, and graduates.

Dr. Pearson received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Syracuse University and graduated Pi Alpha Alpha with an MPA in Public Administration from Rutgers University, School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA). She received her Ph.D. in Urban Systems, with her doctoral research on environmental sustainability and affordable housing in urban cities, with a focus on the Tiny House Movement.
