Wei Fang
Associate Dean for Information Technology, and Head of Digital Services
Wei Fang is the Associate Dean for Information Technology and Head of Digital Services. In 2012, he was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. He has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters focusing on digital libraries and video repositories. In addition, he has led multiple grant-funded digital initiatives, including a project supported by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. He has held leadership roles within the profession, serving as Chair of MAV-SIS and AALLC of AALL, as well as Chair of NJLLA.
Biography
Dean Fang earned a master’s degree in computer science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a second master’s degree in library and information science from Rutgers University, where he specialized in digital libraries. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Mathematics, from Kean University.
He served as a co–principal investigator on a federal grant awarded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission to expand the law library’s Housing Law and Policy Digital Archive in 2011. In 2012, he was promoted to Librarian II with tenure.
Dean Fang has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on digital libraries and video repositories. He has also held significant professional leadership roles, including serving as Chair of AALLC and Chair of MAV-SIS of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), as well as contributing to its archive and technology committees. In addition, he served as Chair of the New Jersey Law Librarians Association (NJLLA).
